Meeting of Prof. Adj. Dr. Daniel Machín, Dr. Janys Rodriguez and Martin Börgel in Uruguay

Martin Börgel, Prof. Adj. Dr. Daniel Machín and Dr. Janys Rodriguez

A few months ago Martin Börgel visited Prof. Adj. Dr. Daniel Machín and Dr. Janys Rodriguez in Uruguay to get to know each other and learn more about their work. Prof. Machín provided a short report about the meeting:

"In September of this year, we had the honor of receiving Martin Börgel, Manager General of the German Tissue Transplantation Association (DGFG), President of the European Association of Tissue and Cell Banks (EATCB), and Secretary General of the World Union of Tissue Bank Associations (WUTBA).

Mr. Börgel toured the facilities, learning about the building infrastructure and the layout of each of the technical and administrative areas. He analyzed and evaluated the different donation and transplantation procedures of the National Institute of Donation and Transplantation of Cells, Tissues, and Organs, the only institution in the country dedicated to donation and transplantation, which is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of the Republic and the Ministry of Health. He also gave a presentation and, finally, suggested some modifications and corrective actions to improve the work carried out by our teams of specialists.

We appreciate this opportunity for exchange and learning, which guides us by introducing us to other approaches to tissue production, expanding our knowledge, and broadening our research opportunities.
